2008 Presidential Race to the White House

With so many campaign adds on television, one would find it hard to select a candidate for this 2008 presidential election. Whenever I see these campaign ads on tv, I, unlike most people who sit there and watch, just quickly flip the channel.

Here are some examples of the many adds that have been showing frequently:

http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmFrBaskrlQ or maybe you can check out this ad, http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHW-RO1_WN0

  • Who Do I choose?
  • Why should I choose them?
  • How can I choose?
Every time you turn the channels, some candidate is bashing somebody else. Although some candidates play more fairly, sometimes the lines get crossed, and voters lose sight of the candidates proposed solution to the real issues Americans face. I dislike that campaigning has to always be about look at what he's doing, or wearing. Help me understand what you are talking about and how you plan to do it! It is understandable that ads have but so little time to air, but give me something more about yourself than what the next candidate is doing. I know who I would like to vote for as my president, but for all the other candidates that are on the ballot, please get it together on these ads.

Maintaining My Napturals

To celebrate breast cancer awarness month, I've decided to write this blog in pink. I've been following this blog called Napturals. Its about maintaining natural kinky, or in my case, nappy hair. I watched all these tutorial videos and I was excited. One person even had a tutorial about the products she uses to maintain her hair. I tried a couple of those products and they made my hair feel so soft. I tried twisting my hair myself and it came out looking really nice. I always do my hair myself, with the exception of fancy and complicated hairdos. Other than that, I'm always finding crazy things to do to my hair. Check out a brief glimpse of my weekly dose of craziness below.

I thought that this hairstyle was going to turn out looking a mess. I tried this style in my hair once before and it was horrible. The second time I tried it, it turned out to be very nice! It wasn't perfect but good enough that I wouldn't have to worry about having a bad hair day in the morning.

The picture above is a picture of my natural hair twisted up professionally for a wedding!

Something to reflect on...

Question: How do you react when people offend you, say horrible things about you, and/or persecute you?
Answer: Its only natural to get upset and defend yourself, right?
Well here are two things I learned in Church service this morning.
We read from 1 Samuel 24:1-22
  1. Always count on the promises of God.

people will test you over and over again. Its up to you to determine whether or not your attitude will reflect you altitude.

Biblical references: Isaiah 41:10; Genesis 12:1-3; Roman 8:1

2. Wait on God with patience.

Biblical references: 1 Samuel 24: 4-12; Jude 9; Romans 13:1-2

When we react without thinking we are left to pay a multitude of consequences.

Our day at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

I never knew planning a field trip would be so much work. I had to make sure all my forms were filled out correctly, send them in for approval on time, confirm that my busses would arrive at the school on time, check to see if there were enough bagged lunches, and confirming a head count of all students before and after the show. I hardly had time to enjoy the shows (oh, I attended two shows an hour apart. so I had to skip out early on one to make sure the next transition went smoothly.) I was going back and forth trying to make sure everyone knew where they were going. All in all it was an interestin g day at the Kravis. I would do it all over again simply because my kids were so well behaved and respectful.

When Dating....

My mom always told me that boys and girls can never be "Just Friends!" Before you actually start to date a guy, see if he is willing to do things for you or your mom. Things like, cleaning your car, walking your dog, mowing your lawn, or taking out the trash.
